Whale & dolphin watching

The waters of the Western Cape are home to dozens of cetacean species, from families of orca and resident pods of bottlenose dolphins to the southern right whales that migrate here from Antarctica during the winter months (June to September). Boat-based whale-watching excursions are the most memorable way to admire these animals in their natural habitat.

Sea kayaking

Enjoy a unique perspective on Cape Town with a kayak tour along the city’s Atlantic Seaboard. Guided kayak tours depart daily (weather permitting) from Three Anchor Bay to explore the beautiful coastline stretching from the V&A Waterfront to Clifton. Close-up encounters with pods of dolphin are a regular highlight. If you’d prefer to go it alone, kayak rentals are available.
