The Twelve Apostles Hotel

In recent years, Cape Town has gained an international reputation for its fantastic restaurant scene and, fortunately for families visiting the South African capital, this includes plenty of family-friendly eateries too. Alongside excellent onsite options, families staying at The Twelve Apostles will be spoilt for choice when eating out. Sample some of the region’s best food and keep the kids happy at the same time at our pick of the city’s best family friendly restaurants.

The Café Grill

The Twelve Apostles is well practiced at catering to families, and the hotel’s Café Grill is guaranteed to please diners of all ages. Specialising in relaxed 24-hour dining, it’s an ideal option for young families. There’s also plenty to keep younger diners entertained, including a colour in activity sheet, which also helps children learn more about Cape Town’s famous wildlife. An extensive kids menu means even the fussiest eaters will be satisfied. Hungry youngsters can feast on crowd-pleasing classics like macaroni & cheese, mini pizzas, creamed tomato soup and, for exceptionally well-behaved diners, there’s a tempting milkshake menu too.

Café Paradiso

Warm and welcoming, the Mediterranean style Café Paradiso will be a hit with all the family. Children are not only welcome to eat here, they also have the chance to get hands on in the kitchen and make their pizza, cookies or decorate a cupcake. Back in the restaurant, an Italian-inspired menu of antipasti, pasta, risotto and salads keeps grown up guests happy too.

Company’s Garden Restaurant

Located within the famous Company’s Garden, the Company’s Garden Restaurant is inspired by its verdant surroundings and offers families the chance to spend time it nature whilst also enjoying a great meal. Children can while away the time playing in the life size bird nests or sitting atop the carved wooden animals in the play area before getting stuck into something from the kids menu or one of the restaurant’s excellent toasties. Adults will appreciate the opportunity to sample a few tasty local eats dishes, such as the South Africa Platter, which features bite-size morsels of regional delights.
