I was very privileged to join the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa as International Sales Manager in January 2005.  I have worked in most segments of the Travel Industry from MICE market, groups consultant for an inbound DMC, managing product, contracting, marketing and sales to starting my own representation company in the UK.  Luxury Representation started at the beginning of 2007 and we continue to work with the Twelve Apostles to position it as the boutique hotel in Cape Town.

I was born and raised in Durban, South Africa and completed my university education in Johannesburg.  Since my Father was from Cape Town, I spent many wonderful days in awe of the scenery in this magic city.  I immigrated to the United States in 1978 with my husband and son and my passion for my homeland was channeled into the Travel Industry.  I worked as a travel agent for 19 years, promoting tourism to Southern Africa.  In January 2000, South African Airways began service from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Atlanta and I was appointed the Station Manager of the Atlanta operation.  When SAA ceased this service 7 years later, I was honored to be appointed as the US Sales and Marketing representative for The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa.  The Twelve Apostles encompasses the beauty and views of Cape Town – and what a privilege it is to sell such a magnificent property in such a spectacular location.  This sophisticated, boutique property offers mountains and ocean in the same vista and easy proximity to all the attractions of Cape Town and its environs.

My connection with South Africa started in 1989, when my parents emigrated to Fish Hoek, Cape Town, and since my first visit to South Africa, I was fascinated by the true beauty of the destination. After finishing my apprenticeship as a travel agent in 1993, I immediately joined South African Airways in Frankfurt to be able to work closely with the destination South Africa and to visit my parents more often. After more than 9 years with SAA and countless visits to this beautiful country, I started my own representation company in 2003 marketing some of Africa’s finest and most luxurious properties in the German speaking tourism markets. I have represented The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa since September 2004, which is a true privilege for me. I hope, that many more fellow Germans, Austrians and Swiss will visit South Africa, Cape Town and ultimately The Twelve Apostles Hotels & Spa! Once you have visited the country, you will always need to return!

My hospitality career started approximately seven years ago in Food & Beverage working for The Collection Group. I received the wonderful opportunity with Red Carnation Hotels in London as a Food & Beverage Host and Butler at Hotel 41 located opposite the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace. This is when I realized the passion I had working in the hospitality industry where a guest comes first and working on the philosophy of “No Request too Large and No Detail too Small”. I furthered my career by showing interest in Front Office and was promoted as the Night Manager working for Hotel 41 and The Rubens at The Palace.  As its been said that “The ladder of success is best climbed by the rungs of opportunity, I fulfilled the role as Duty Manager for both properties.  After a very successful four years in London I was transferred within Red Carnation Hotels to The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa as Duty Manger.  My ultimate goal was to progress in Sales & Marketing. Currently employed by Red Carnation Hotels for six years I was appointed as Sales Executive for The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness & Retreat and The Oyster Box in 2007.

My career began as PA to the MD of Eurospace Africa (the media division of Hunt Lascaris TBWA) where I remained for two years before joining the MD to form ESPM (Events, Sponsorship, Promotions and Marketing) and was promoted to Promotions/Client Service Manager servicing the MTN account handling all their promotions, below-the-line advertising and sports sponsorships.  In March 1997 I left to start Arnix Advertising, Promotions & Events cc (a below-the-line advertising agency).  On working on a promotion for MTN which included the branding of an open deck bus, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Council approached me to tender for the branding of their entire fleet of buses.  I subsequently approached the ex-GM of Moving Media and established an outdoor advertising company, Ad’itude (Pty) Ltd, specializing in outdoor and moving media.  In 2002 I joined Creative Incentives, as an Account Director and handled the account management of a number of large clients including Nissan, Sony Ericsson, Cell C and Westcon. I have been consulting to The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa since 2005 and provide a Sales Representation service for the Corporate Market in Johannesburg.  I endeavour to provide a 5* service to our clients from the outset and meet their specific needs in the best way possible.
