Cape Town's summer runs from late October until March; winters are fairly cold and wet and the rainy months are June to August. Cape Town is busiest during December and January when schools are on holiday, although the tourist season extends from November to April, which are the most popular months for travellers to come to enjoy long hours of sunshine and average temperatures of between 24.3 degrees Centigrade up to an average of 26 degrees in January and February.

June is the wettest month of the year, with 108 mm (4.3 inches) of rain. The average temperature in Cape Town’s winter season is 7 to 20 degrees Centigrade.
