Cape Town Marimba Festival in Rondebosch

South Africa is famous for many things around the world, not least the wealth of music that the country has and continues to produce.

One of the most common instruments in African music is the marimba and its sweet sounds will be heard right across Cape Town in late May when the Marimba Festival returns for another year.

The best marimba bands in the city will come together at the Baxter Theatre for a celebration of the instrument, the music it produces and its place in the local culture.

With pulsating energy and wonderful rhythms, the event promises to be a musical extravaganza like no other and will finish with a wonderful performance featuring 120 artists playing simultaneously.
