Event: Cape Town Jazz Festival
Dates: April 3rd to 4th
Everyone loves jazz music and what better place to see world-class acts playing than Cape Town?
The International Jazz Festival will come to the city on April 3rd and 4th, hosted in the Cape Town International Convention Centre for the sixth year.
This year is the 11th for the show, which features 40 international African stars. A major part of this year's event is that renowned guitarist and vocalist George Benson and saxophonist Charles Lloyd will be appearing.
The duo will join the other headline acts, which include the McCoy Tyner Trio, violinist Regina Carter and Rachelle Ferrell.
The 40 acts will perform across five different stages, with the Kippies venue being the main stage, Moses Molelekwa stage for less known musicians, Basil 'Manenberg' Coetzee stage for fusion and experimental specialists, Bassline for contemporary jazz players and the Rosies stage for acoustic sounds.
People wanting to catch both days of the event can stay at luxury Cape Town hotel the 12 Apostles.
It offers a range of packages, including the Suite Life offer, which includes a one-bedroom suite, a welcome drink, a bottle of Bouchard Finlayson wine, full English breakfast, afternoon tea by the sea and use of the hotel's spa.
