Infecting the City in Cape Town

Event: Infecting the City
Date: February 13th to 20th

The streets come alive in Cape Town every year when Infecting the City sets the town alight.

Every area of the city is taken over by performers, from public squares and fountains to theatres and moving vehicles.

Some of the performances are free, making them ideal to dip in and out of them, although the most popular events sometimes charge a fee.

The festive is a celebration of the arts and the theme is Human Rite, with each artist taking a different view on it, from art installations and dances to taking part in ritual healing.

Some of the aims of the event are to present cutting edge, socially-engaged performance works, stimulate a rich culture performance in Cape Town and to turn the city into one big performance for a week.

Right near the heart of the action is the Twelve Apostles hotel, located near Camps Bay. While staying at the hotel guests can take advantage of the Celebrations package, offering a wide range of extras, including a five-star dinner and a session at the spa.
