Cape Town Marimba Workshops offered

Unique hour-long drumming workshops are being offered to percussion enthusiasts in South Africa's most populous city.

The Marimba Workshop - located in the Pumphouse at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront -will transform eager participants into percussion orchestras with the help of a group of talented musicians.

Held every Wednesday between 10.30am and 11.30am for a small fee of 30 rand, the classes revolve around the marimba - an African instrument that can be played to a variety of genres, including jazz, pop and classical music.

Specifically, visitors to the workshops will be taught both how to play the instrument and make their own versions.

Once participants finish the sessions they can relax at The Twelve Apostles hotel, which is located just 21 minutes away from the waterfront.
