Khayelitsha Festival to get underway in Cape Town this month

Holidaymakers staying at luxury South Africa hotel The Twelve Apostles may wish to visit one of Cape Town's most eagerly anticipated events.

Khayelitsha Festival 2009, which takes place at Or Tambo Hall, will showcase some of South Africa's finest dance, music and performance artists from October 24th to 26th.

The event celebrates the sprawling Khayelitsha community, which is established in the Cape Flats area of Cape Town and last year observed its 25th anniversary.

Guests of The Twelve Apostles may wish to take advantage of the festival and combine it with the hotel's Celebrations package, which runs until December 19th.

The offer includes luxury accommodation in one of the hotel's Classic Rooms and a full English breakfast.

This year's Khayelitsha Festival will reflect eight major themes including leisure and lifestyle, arts and culture and a main stage entertainment programme.

It will be located just 6km from Cape Town International Airport, with Or Tambo Hall having been completed in the mid-1990s ahead of the city's Olympic bid.
