People heading to South Africa will no doubt have already heard about the wine region, but the Hermanus Wine and Food Fair will provide a great opportunity to try out the country's tipples.

The event, which runs from August 7th to 9th, combines two of travellers' favourite things, food and drink, and has recently been nominated one of the top ten fairs of its kind in the country.

Around 50 local wineries gather for the three days, with tasting being available and the wines being sold at the cellar price, making a great present to take home.

People who buy a little more than they can carry need not worry, as the event offers shipping to anywhere in the world, meaning there is no excuse not to get a few bottles.

Foodie fans will not be disappointed either as various cheese and olive farms will be displaying their wares, while fish fans will be able to sample the local sushi.

Of course a much needed rest will be in order after all the food and drink, with the Twelve Apostles hotel being the ideal place.
