One of William Shakespeare's most famous plays will be performed for audiences in Cape Town this coming January at the Baxter Theatre.
The Tempest is a tale which interweaves several different themes, including repentance, forgiveness and friendship.
It begins with the story of the Prospero, the Duke of Milan and victim of a betrayal by his own brother, Antonio, who seized his position with help from the King of Naples, Alonso.
To rid themselves of the deposed man, they cast him out to sea, along with his three-year-old daughter Miranda, and the pair end up on a distant island.
While the situation may seem desperate Prospero discovers his understanding of magical powers gives him command over the spirit Ariel.
The stranded former nobleman learns his brother, and the other backstabbers, are riding the ocean waves themselves after travelling to Africa.
Prospero summons up a tempest, causing the vessel to run aground and the group are reunited.
After the performance, audience members can enjoy comfort and relaxation at the luxury Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles.
The Stay 4 Nights For The Price of 3 package will provide visitors with use of the establishment's hydrotherapy pools, a complimentary newspaper each day, daily wine tasting and a full South African breakfast each day, plus much more.
