Local flavour for Cape Town wine festival

Event: iTownship Wine Festival

Date: August 29th to 31st 2008

Guests staying at the Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles may want to make space in their itinerary for the iTownship Wine Festival which takes place From August 29th until the 31st.

Centre stage at the event will be a pavilion featuring black wine producers while the Chef's Pavilion will host some of the top cooks and sommeliers from Cape Town's best hotels and restaurant establishments.

More than 3,000 people are expected to attend his year's event and the proliferation of arts, crafts and jewellery indicate there will be something for everyone.

The township of Khayelitsha was originally created during the apartheid era to house working class blacks. Famous for being the first such area to have its own formal golf course, Khayelitsha is a perfect destination for those who want to experience real township life.
