Motor enthusiasts staying at luxury Cape Town hotel the Twelve Apostles in January will no doubt be looking forward to the Classic Car and Bike Show, scheduled to take place on the last weekend of the month.

Described by Tourism Cape Town as "one of the highlights" of the Cape calendar, the event features some of the region's rarest and most beautiful cars.

This year, the event was held over two days for the first time and to great success and will no doubt prove to be a hit again with guests of luxury hotel the Twelve Apostles in the new year.

Vehicles likely to be displayed at the show include Hot Rods, Street Rods, modified vehicles, racing cars and bikes, custom vehicles and motorcycles new and old.

Day one will be dedicated to modern classics while on the second day homage will be paid to vintage classics.

The older classics will include models dating back to the late 1890s which "invoke an era of elegance, a more relaxed way of life and a time when craftsmanship was an important element of vehicle design and manufacture".

Refreshments will be available throughout the exhibition although why not visit nearby luxury hotel the Twelve Apostles and dine in the Azure Restaurant which offers views out over the sea.
