Q. When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
A. Cape Town is a year-round destination with warm summer days and cool winters. The Cape’s climate is described as Mediterranean with warm, dry summers and mild, moist winters. The Cape has a mostly temperate climate. Near the coast, summer temperatures range from a pleasant low of 15°C (59°F) to highs of 27°C (80.6°F). Inland temperatures are some 3 to 5 degrees higher, making for gorgeous summer days and nights.
Q. What is your smoking policy?
A. Due to the passing of The Tobacco Products Amendment Act, and the potential harmful effects of passive smoking, smoking is only allowed in Leopard Lounge and Bar and designated smoking rooms. In respect of the legislation, we kindly request all our guests adhere to the non-smoking policy within the designated areas of the hotel.
Q. Who do I tell if I have specific dietary requirements?
A. Advise reservations when making your booking or reception at check-in and your dietary requests and requirements will be relayed to the kitchen.
Q. Are there hiking trails near the hotel?
A. There are various trails of interest near the hotel and around Cape Town. Information can be given to guests to enjoy a day on their own, or a guided hike can be organised. The hotel's own back garden is ideal for mountain walks and picnics.
Q. How do I get to the Penguin colony?
A. The famous penguin colony is situated at Boulders Beach near Simon's Town. Jack Ass penguins breed in a conservation program.
Q. What is there to do on Table Mountain?
A. One can take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain for magnificent views of Cape Town. Pathways lead to view sites over the whole Peninsula. There is also a restaurant at the top where light meals or snacks can be enjoyed.
Q. Can I bring my pet with me?
A. Pets are welcome in our guest bedrooms and a range of pet beds and menus are available. This can be arranged when making your reservation. Please ensure to give prior notification. Though a deposit is requested upon arrival in case of any damage caused, this will be returned to you at the end of your stay.
Q. Where are the nearest shopping centers?
A. The largest shopping centres in and around Cape Town are the V&A Waterfront (Cape Town), Century City (Goodwood) and Tygervally (Durbanville). All of these are easily accessible from the hotel.

The Waterfront has been a favourite destination of Capetonians and visitors since its 1992 re-awakening.

Canal Walk, just outside the Cape Town city centre, is one of the biggest shopping malls in the Southern Hemisphere, offering shoppers a choice between hundreds of stores offering everything from designer imports to hand-crafted South African curios.
